I did this photo shoot during one of the most challenging moments of my life. My father had just passed, only a couple of days before, when I had to jump on a plane and head to Los Angeles for a photoshoot with Essence magazine, where I was part of "the women behind the scenes" in a Sparkle movie shoot. We shot all day. As tired and overwhelmed as I was, I hopped on a red eye to New York for this shoot. I arrived in New York and took a cab to the studio, where I took a cowboy cleanup in the bathroom, minutes before setting up for Jordin's arrival. As exhausted as I was, I still had to perform at peak. No one knew what I was experiencing. It wasn't anyone's business. It was my circus, my monkey.
This was shot at a mansion in south Florida while we were shooting Cindy's first movie Fair Game.
This photoshoot was part of the promotion for the Quentin Tarantino movie Jackie Brown.
